About

We are still not in full production mode just yet

The H5P Hub is currently in its soft launch phase. It offers one-stop-shop H5P functionality but occasional bugs and a relatively fast update and improvement cycle are to be expected.

Who can access and create content?

H5P is currently open to UBC community. Authenticated users can create new content or reuse/republish appropriately licensed content that was created elsewhere.

Licensing and sharing

Newly created content needs to have an appropriate license attached to it.

Metadata, disciplines and faculty affiliation

UBC Faculties, Schools and other entities such as UBC Library or CTLT have the ability to identify and mark their own content and assure certain publishing policies or published materials’ standards. Furthermore, creators are encouraged to attach appropriate disciplines and keywords (tags) to their content to better the findability and use of their resources.

Media files

UBC’s Open H5P Hub provides the H5P module creation environment and hosting. It does not though provide the media server capabilities for the video and audio files. So, the users are advised to use UBC’s Kaltura service for hosting media or external video services such as YouTube or Vimeo.

Support

There are examples of all the modules available here. Joubel – H5P’s creators – have created tutorials and documentation for popular modules. Also, examples and downloads. Multiple higher-ed institutions in Ontario contribute to and share their H5P modules.
